Constipation : (1) 1 gram cinnamon powder and 5 grams myrobalan (HARADE-હરડે) powder taken with 100 ml warm water at night may help having motion easily in the morning and eventually constipation may be cured.
(2) Soak 30-40 grams raisins in cold water at night. Crush and strain in the morning and drink it to help in constipation.
(3) Sprinkle very fine powder of rock salt and black pepper on fresh grapes. Eat one by one chewing thoroughly at night. This may help in constipation.
(4) To get rid of constipation have a mixture of 10 grams ginger juice and 10 grams lemon juice with 1.5 grams rock salt every day in the morning. This also should be taken in constipation before every meal.
(5) Soak tamarind in water twice in weight that of tamarind for four hours. Strain and boil to evaporate half the water and then add lump sugar twice its weight. Take 20 to 50 grams and drink adding water as required at night in constipation.
(6) Drinking juice of a lemon in a glass of cold water at night or early in the morning may be helpful in constipation.
(7) Drinking 10 grams lemon juice and 10 grams sugar adding in 100 ml cold water for a month may cure long time constipation.
(8) A teaspoon of lemon juice and a teaspoon ginger juice and two teaspoons honey in a glass of lukewarm water may help in indigestion and constipation.
(9) Drinking hot water early in the morning may help in mild constipation.
(10) Soak a table spoon black sesame seeds in water and crush. Eat it in butter or curd (yogurt) every morning to help in constipation.
(11) Boil milk adding a dry fig and 5 to 10 almonds and some sugar to drink in the morning. It may help in constipation.
(12) Eat 3-4 figs chewing thoroughly and drink lukewarm milk before going to bed at night to help in constipation.
(13) Soak dates overnight, crush and strain in the morning and drink. It may help in constipation. It may be taken with honey, but do not take it with honey for more than a week.
(14) If the cause of constipation was indigestion or onslaught of heat, then eat 20-30 grams cashew nuts with raisins or grapes.
(15) Eating guava regularly may help in constipation.
(16) Eating well ripe tomatoes with its skin before meal and also before going to bed at night may help in constipation.
(17) A glass of tomato juice or soup every day may help in long time constipation.
(18) Eating well ripe bananas at night may help in constipation.
(19) Taking 3 grams fenugreek powder in water morning and evening may help in constipation.
(20) Cooked tender leaves of fenugreek plant may help in constipation.
(21) Eating one or two oranges before going to bed at night may help in constipation. Orange juice may help in long time constipation as well.
(22) Drinking a teaspoonful honey in a glass of cold or lukewarm water in the morning and that in milk before going to bed at night helps in constipation.
(23) Mix thoroughly very fine powder of ginger, black pepper, long pepper and rock salt 10 grams each and 400 grams of seeded raisins. Keep it in a glass jar. This is called five nectars (PANCHAMRUT-પંચામૃત). Eating 20 grams of it every day morning and evening may help in constipation.
(24) Soak raisins, fumaria parviflora (PITTAPAPADO-પીત્તપાપડો) and coriander seeds in water over night and drink strained water in the morning to cure constipation.
(25) Drinking 1 or 1.5 grams common salt in a glass of lukewarm water at night may help in constipation.
(26) Drinking a tablespoon castor oil in a glass of milk at night for few days may get rid of constipation.
(27) Keep 1.25 litres water in copper pot over night and drink it first thing in the morning before doing anything (even brush) before sunrise and you will never suffer from constipation.
(28) Taking TRIFALA (ત્રીફળા) powder at night will keep you away from constipation.
(29) Using flour without sifting, well ripe pompom and having buttermilk after meal may help in constipation.
(30) Thick buttermilk with Bishop’s weed seed (AJAMO-અજમો) powder and specially prepared salt (called BIDLAVAN-બીડલવણ) may help in constipation.
(31) You may cure constipation in any condition by having a teaspoon myrobalan (HARADE-હરડે) powder in a glass of lukewarm milk every morning and evening.
(32) Eating whole uncooked radish with its leaves may cure constipation even suffering from long time.
(33) Eating apples at night may help in constipation particularly to old people.
(34) Eat 20 grams seeded raisins and drink 250 ml milk to help in motion.
(35) Here are some precautions if you suffer from constipation: Get up early in the morning. Have a big glass of water and go for a walk. Have lemon juice with water adding salt, not sugar. Avoid all kind of bean seeds and food causing gas. Amaranthus tenuifolius (TANDALJO-તાંદળજો) is good. You may eat it every day.
(36) Fresh coconut water may help in constipation.
(37) Soak myrobalan (HARADE-હરડે) in salty water for 24 hours and dry it. Keep one in your mouth all the time to cure constipation.
(38) Drink a cup of spinach juice adding lemon juice and cumin seed powder if you are suffering from constipation.
(39) Add juice of half lemon and juice of an orange to a cup of hot water and then add some honey. This drink may help in constipation.
(40) Drinking a glass of fresh mandarin juice (without adding anything) every day in the morning before taking anything may help in constipation.
(41) Boil milk or water adding small cardamom powder and drink it lukewarm to cure constipation.
(42) Powder of fenugreek and ginger 4 grams each taken with jiggery may help in constipation.
(43) If you are suffering from constipation then chew roasted bishop’s weed seeds with two teaspoons castor oil at night before going to bed.
(44) Mix thoroughly 50 grams raisins and 100 grams myrobalan (હરડે) powder. Make tablets of about a teaspoon of this mixture. Soak it in a cup of water for 20 to 25 minutes in the morning and mix in to the same water to drink. This may help in not just constipation but also in other disorders like gas, temperature, heart trouble, bad body odour, blood disorders, skin disorders, coughing, diabetes, digestion problems, jaundice etc..
(45) Boil three figs and 15 raisins in a glass of milk at night before going to bed. Drink milk slowly and eat figs and raisins. This may help in constipation in few days and it may purify blood as well.
